Paid File Listing Guidelines
In order to submit paid file listings to our download manager, you must agree to the following additional submission guidelines. These are here to protect both the author and the user. For the purposes of these guidelines, a "paid file" is any modification, skin pack or other resource for which the user must pay the author in order to gain access to the resource. Please be aware that failure to follow these guidelines will result in your paid submissions being de-listed from our site, and no longer accepted in our database.
Submitting Paid Files
Payment for the file must be handled by yourself outside of the resource site. You are responsible for accepting and approving the payment, and providing the file to the user upon receipt of payment. Upon payment, you must promptly, within a reasonable time period, provide the user with access to the resource for which they paid. It is up to the author and the user to setup any sort of special payment or download arrangements. Our database merely provides a link for the user to be aware of your work.
Specific Submission Instructions
To submit a paid file to our database please follow these specific steps:
- Click through to 'Add File' in the 'Downloads' database of this site and choose the category to list the file in
- On the main submission form, set 'Paid Listing' to 'Yes'
- On the main submission form, enter the price for the download under 'Price'
- Browse to upload the file you will distribute to your customers
- In the 'Paid File Extra Information' field you must enter the URL that should be listed (i.e. a URL to your payment processing page, or a URL to download the file on your site). We will update the listing to reflect this URL for you upon approval. Additionally, if the software requires any sort of license key or other information in order to validate and test the submission, you must provide it in this field. Any additional instructions or notes are welcome as well (such as contact information for questions, or information regarding multiple pricing tiers, for instance). This field is not displayed to users.
Based on the information supplied we will test and verify the software, and approve the file to be listed in our database.
Support for Paid Files
You must provide support for any paid work you wish to submit to our database. It is up to your customers to notify you of any issues in the software, and it is up to you to provide technical support and updates as appropriate to address those issues. There are no specific guidelines for how you provide support (be it through a forum, a support help desk, or email, for instance).
Inappropriate Paid Files
Your submission must not:
- use our services or site in any unlawful manner or in any other manner that could damage, disable, overburden or impair the site
- make available content that, in the sole judgment of IPS, is deemed to be harmful, threatening, unlawful, defamatory, infringing, abusive, inflammatory, harassing, vulgar, obscene, fraudulent, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, hateful, racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable
- list an item which restricts or inhibits any other person from using or enjoying the site, or which may expose IPS or its users to any harm or liability of any type
Any files reported in violation of the above may be removed immediately with no notice. Additionally, files reported to be in violation of the above and are found to be exceptionally, or intentionally, malice in nature may result in the removal of the author from the site.
De-Listing of Paid Files
If we receive multiple complaints from users about a paid listing, we will give you a chance to address and rectify the issues reported. However, continued failure to keep the item within the compliance of this agreement will result in the removal of your listing from our database. If you are unable to meet the obligations expected of you in submitting a paid listing to our database, you should not submit the work to be listed.
Similarly, we will remove your paid file listing at any time upon your request.
Cooperation with Invision Power Services
When you submit a paid listing, we will request a copy of the file for review. We would request such a copy with the intention of installing the software onto a test installation of our software so that we can verify the work being listed is described and listed appropriately and accurately. If your software is encoded, we will NOT ask for an unencoded copy. We would require, however, any license key or license verification requirements necessary in order to install the software for testing. We will NOT use your work outside of the test installation described above. We will NOT resell, re-list, or distribute your work without your express written consent. The copy of the software requested is merely for verification purposes.
Paid Files must be flagged properly
You may not submit a file to our database that requires payment to use or download such software without indicating that it is a paid file on the submission form. Any files that require payment but are not flagged as such will be deleted, and you risk the chance of losing your ability to submit paid files in the future completely.
Competing software
We reserve the right to not accept or remove any file that competes with IPS software or services.
As stated, these guidelines are here to help everyone. Users can rest assured that what they are buying from you will meet our guidelines and you can rest assured that your file is being listed where thousands of users who may be interested in your work will be able to view it.
