What can it do?

IP.Shoutbox allows your forum members to communicate with each other in an easy to use way. It is similar to a chat-room, but does not require Java, Flash or any other browser dependency! The Shoutbox is updated real-time, meaning any new Shouts someone makes will appear on everyones page at once, you do not need to refresh!

Of course, there are bound to be some pages you don't want the Shoutbox to appear, such as IP.Blog, or maybe a news page. Therefore, in our extensive settings page, we have added a specific list which can be treated in two ways. Administrators can choose to treat this list as a 'black-list', this simply means that IP.Shoutbox will not display on any pages entered into that list. Alternatively, you can decide to use it as a 'white-list', this means that IP.Shoutbox will only display on pages entered in that list.

We have also included group permissions, meaning you can specify what groups can use the Shoutbox, who can edit their shouts, who can use the quick commands, and lots, lots more! You could even select groups which can view the Shoutbox, but not post in it. Useful if you want the Shoutbox to be used as a VIP type perk, or for administrators to post real-time updates.
